Kolbotn IL

Kolbotn Idrettslag is a sports club from Kolbotn (Norway). The club was established in 1945 from a merger of the clubs Kolbotn Idrettsklubb, Kolbotn Arbeideridrettslag and Kolbotn Skøyteklubb.

History

1915, the scalloped collars Idrætsklub was founded. Normand Nilsen was the first chairman. Later, the club changed its name to Kolbotn Idrettsklubb ( KIK ). In 1924, the Kolbotn Arbeideridrettslag founded ( Kolbotn AIL ). Ten years later, the speed skaters split off and founded the association Kolbotn Skøyteklubb. 1945 merged the three associations and Kolbotn IL was founded. Since 1960, each department is run as a semi- autonomous organization. 1985, joined the Bright pegs Volleyball Klubb Kolbotn IL.

Women's Soccer

The women's football department of Kolbotn IL is one of the strongest teams in Norway and in Europe. 1994 reached the summit in the Toppserien the top division. 2002, 2005 and 2006, the Norwegian championship to be won. 2004 reached Kolbotn IL the quarterfinals of the UEFA Women 's Cup.
