Košická Belá

Košice Bela ( Bella German, Hungarian Béla spot - until 1873 Béla ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia with 981 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011) near the town of Košice in the eastern part of the Slovak Ore Mountains.

It was first mentioned in writing in 1397 as Villa Johannis, 1580 also German Hans Dorff. It includes the towns of Košické Hamre (1967 amalgamated; German [ Kassa ] Hammer, Hungarian Kassahámor ), Maly Folkmar ( incorporated 1944 Košické Hamre; German Kleinfolkmar, Hungarian Kissolymár ) and Ružín (1969 amalgamated ), these places are but in the flooding the reservoir Ružín ( in 1969, Slovak Vodná nádrž Ružín ) perished for the most part.

The town's name is derived from the place by flowing brook Bela.
