The group poses -east in the Prussian province of Posen existed from 1887 until 1919.

Administrative history

The Prussian Kreis Posen - West was formed on 1 October 1887 the eastern half of the previous circle poses. Seat of the district administration was the city of Poznan.

On April 1, 1896, the rural community Berdychowo - Piotrowo in the urban district of Posen was issued. On April 1, 1900, the rural communities Jeżyce yet ( Jersitz ) Łazarz (Saint Lazarus ) and Wilda in the urban district of Posen. On April 1, 1900 were added from among Schroda: township and district police Pudewitz, rural communities Paczkowo, Sarbinowo and Sokolniki Gwiazdowskie and the estate districts Gwiazdowo and Puszczykowo.

On December 27, began in 1918 in the province of Posen of the Wielkopolska Uprising of the Polish majority population against German rule, and in January 1919 the area of the circle poses East was under Polish control. On February 16, 1919 armistice ended the Polish- German battles, and on 28 June 1919, the German government stepped with the signing of the Versailles Treaty, the county poses East officially to the newly founded Poland from.

The circle poses East was divided into the boroughs Schwersenz and 1900 Pudewitz. The rural communities and independent estate districts were grouped into larger police districts.

The circle poses East consisted on 1 January 1908:

  • Two townships ( Schwersenz and Pudewitz )
  • 96 rural communities and
  • 47 agricultural estates.

Size

The circle poses East 1887 had a size of 655 km ², after the changes in 1900, then 664 km ².

Population

The circle poses East had in the year 1890 46.896 inhabitants. Of these, 64 % were Polish, 35 % German, and 1% Jewish. The majority of the German population after 1919 left the area.
