Krzysztof Penderecki

Krzysztof Penderecki Eugeniusz ( born November 23, 1933 Dębica, Poland ) is a Polish contemporary composer, whose work the post-serial music is assigned and the excited mainly by its sound compositions stir. Life

He was in Dębica in Rzeszów (not in Krakow, as is sometimes mistakenly reported ) born. His father brought him early into contact with music, as a child, he received violin and piano lessons. He later studied composition at the Music Academy in Krakow Artur Malawski and Stanislaw Skolyszewski and privately with Franciszek Skolyszewski; next, he studied philosophy, art and literature history at the University of Krakow. In 1958 he completed his studies with a diploma and was appointed professor of composition at the Music Academy in Krakow. From 1972 to 1987 he was Rector of the Music Academy in Krakow ( Vice-Rector: Jan jargon ). Between 1966 and 1968 he was in addition also a lecturer at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. Penderecki is Honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Saxony cultural infrastructure in Görlitz. In 1988 he was elected as the first guest conductor of the NDR Symphony Orchestra (Hamburg). In 2001, he was the eleventh composer at the annual composer's portrait of the Rheingau Musik Festival. He is fluent in German.

Reception

Penderecki, who once led with the avant-garde and post-serial music developed, is now increasingly used in the criticism of colleagues and critics. Helmut Lachenmann even spoke of Penderadetzky that mentioned by the tonal Artiodactyla.
