Krzysztof Szramiak

Krzysztof Szramiak ( born July 9, 1984 in Opole) is a Polish weightlifter. He became in 2010 Vice European middleweight champion.

Career

Krzysztof Szramiak began in early youth in his hometown of Opole ( Opole ) with the weight lifting. The member of the sports club KS Budowlani Opole was the sponsorship of different trainers and achieved some international success at junior level. So it was in 2000 in Kosice Junior European Champion (U 16) in the weight category up to 70 kg body weight with a duel capacity of 275 kg ( 120-155 ). At the Junior European Championship 2002 Nuovo / Italy he finished 5th in the middleweight division. At the Junior World Championships 2004 in Minsk and at the Junior European Championships in 2004 in Burgas, he was in his last year of junior middleweight time Vice World Champion and European vice-champion in single combat with each 335 kg.

Krzysztof Szramiak could place some international championships in the front of the field also in the seniors but also suffered some disappointments because he has no power brought in important competitions in pushing about. This happened to him, inter alia, also calculated at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, where he in the snatch three times failed to 182.5 kg 160 kg in pushing for good.

The best rankings, which he reached at international championships, was a 5th place at the European Championship 2004 in Kiev with 342.5 kg ( 157.5 to 185 ), a fourth place finish at the 2005 European Championships in Sofia with 340 kg (157 0.5 to 182, 5), where he won in the snatch with 157.5 kg EM bronze medal, a fourth place finish at the 2006 European Championship in Wladyslawowo 350 kg ( 158-192 ), but he won in the snatch with 158 kg again an EM bronze medal and a 5th place finish at the 2007 European Championship in Strasbourg with 347 kg ( 157-190 ).

In 2008 Krzysztof Szramiak could qualify for participation in the Olympics again. In Beijing, he reached in the middleweight division in a duel 352 kg ( 161-191 ) that finished 8th place. After the Olympics, he had to have surgery on the shoulder and could therefore only very late start with training for the 2009 World Championships in Goyang. He did not quite his usual performance and therefore there had to be 335 kg ( 155-180 ) in a duel with 14th place finish.

At the European Championships 2010 in Minsk Krzysztof Szramiak could then achieve the greatest success of his career. He was there with 351 kg ( 160-191 ) challenges in all three branches of European Vice Champion.

Krzysztof Szramiak has been banned by the International Weightlifting Federation ( FILA ) on April 24, 2012 to May 24, 2014 for doping.
