Kui Buri District

Amphoe Kui Buri ( Thai: อำ เภ อ กุยบุรี ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northern part of the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. The Prachuap Khiri Khan province is the southernmost province of the central region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring and Amphoe areas: the north is Amphoe Sam Roi Yot, in the south Amphoe Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan. In the west the Tanintharyi Division of Myanmar to the east and the coast to the Gulf of Thailand is located.

History

Müang Kui was an ancient city ( Müang ) in the Kingdom of Ayutthaya. In the reign of King Boromakot Kui was a "city 4th grade ," his governor had the title Phra Kui Buri. In the Rattanakosin period, King Phutthaloetla Naphalai ( Rama II ) established a Müang Bang Nang Rom, was the administration building in Kui Buri. King Mongkut (Rama IV ) called " Müang Bang Nang Rom" in " Prachuap Khiri Khan " around, but left the administration in the same place. When King Chulalongkorn ( Rama V ) the " Monthon Phetchaburi " einrichtete, Kui Buri was included. 1898, the administration building was relocated to Ko Lak and Kui Buri was a tambon of Müang Prachuap Khiri Khan. On July 19, 1960 Kui Buri got the status of a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) and on 16 July 1963 full Amphoe status.

Management

Amphoe Kui Buri ( tambon) divided into six municipalities that continue in 47 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns in the district ( Tambon thesaban ):

  • Kui Buri ( เทศบาล ตำบล กุยบุรี ) consists of parts of tambon Kui Buri and Kui Nuea,
  • Rai Soon ( เทศบาล ตำบล ไร่ ใหม่ ) consists of parts of the tambon Sam Krathai.

In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
