Kurt Ott

Kurt Ott ( born December 9, 1912 in Zurich, † 19 April 2001 Schlieren ) was a Swiss racing driver who in 1936 won an Olympic silver medal.

Ott had won the 1935 Tour du Lac Léman. At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, the road race was held over 100 kilometers on the AVUS - Nordschleife. On the flat course, the field stayed together until the finish and crossed within a few seconds the finish line. It was won by Frenchman Robert Charpentier ahead of his compatriot Guy Lapébie and the Swiss Ernst Nievergelt; Ott finished in fourteenth place. The team score was determined according to the added time of the first three riders of these countries, the French were victorious against the Swiss with Ernst Nievergelt, Edgar Buchwalder and Kurt Ott. 1937 occupied Ott at the Championship of Zurich in second place in the amateur class.

1938 and 1939 Kurt Ott was active as a professional. He won the 1938 Swiss champion in cyclo-cross and was twelfth in Milan - Sanremo and eighth at the Championship of Zurich. In 1939 he finished third in the Swiss Cross Country Championship.
