Kızılcahamam

Kızılcahamam is a town in the Turkish province of Ankara and is located approximately 70 kilometers north- west of the Turkish capital Ankara on the motorway route Ankara - Istanbul.

Thanks to its numerous thermal baths and its scenic charms Kızılcahamam lives heavily on tourism. The city is known in addition to their mineral sources, including the National Park Soğuksu. In the surrounding areas of the city, there are some sights. One of them is the village mahkeme agaci where similar in Cappadocia prehistoric Christians built their habitats in the rocks. The city has a dense and high-rise development due to the large rural exodus in the city center. The old Turkish houses were replaced in many places large apartment blocks. Many large hotels now dominate the cityscape.

Since 2007, a twinning with the central Hessian town of Weilburg. Initiator of the twinning is Mustafa Yüce from Weilburg. From 15 September to 15 October 2008 organized by Spiridon Club relay race over 2877 km from Weilburg to Kızılcahamam took place.
