La Baume-d'Hostun

La Baume- d'Hostun is a commune in the Drôme department in the Rhône -Alpes.

Geography

La Baume- d'Hostun is located in the Canton of Bourg -de- Péage in the northeast of the Drome region, 17 km east of Romans- sur -Isere and 60 km west of Grenoble (in straight line ).

The 8.46 km ² large municipality covers a part of the valley of the Isère and lies at the foot of the Vercors Mountains.

Population

La Baume- d'Hostun belongs with 553 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) to the smaller communities in the department of Drôme. In 1962, the municipality still 112 inhabitants. Since then it has more than tripled. Particularly strong growth was recorded in the 1960s.
