Labaroche

Labaroche ( German Zell) is a commune with 2266 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Vosges département Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. She is a member of the Communauté de communes de la Vallée de Kaysersberg.

Geography

Labaroche is a scattered settlement with the character of a mountain village and is located between the Vallée de Munster and the Vallée de Kaysersberg. In the south of the department of road runs D11. Striking mountains are the Grand Hohnack 980 m asl and the Petit Hohnack with 927 m The main hallway names are la Place, Évaux les, la Chapelle and Basse Baroche. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges.

History

In the 17th century Labaroche was an Alemannic village. On the Hohnack a lock was the reigns of Ferrette and Ribeaupierre ( Ribeauvillé) built (see Rappoltstein ).
