The Läkerol Arena is an ice hockey stadium in Gävle in eastern Sweden. The stadium will host the home matches of Brynäs IF in the Elitserien, the highest Swedish league, and lies between the Gunder Hägg Stadium, which was formerly called Gavlestadion, and Gävletravet in Sätra district.

In the Läkerol Arena including the Melodifestivalen 2007, the Swedish preliminary decision to Euro Vision Song Contest, and the finals of the Euro Hockey Tour took place in 2006/ 07.

History

The stadium was inaugurated in 1967 under the name Isstadion Gavlerinken as a substitute for Gävle. Back then, it took 9,062 spectators, including 3,200 seated. Over time it has been rebuilt several times, bringing the total number of spectators was reduced in favor of more seats to 8,265 today. For concerts, this number can be increased by temporary tags on 11,000.

The Gavlerinken was the club Brynäs IF bought in 2005 by the city of Gävle and 2006 for approximately 160 million Swedish crowns rebuilt. The naming rights were sold to the company Leaf, which renamed the stadium in Läkerol Arena.
