Lamae District
Lamae ( Thai: ละแม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the south of Chumphon province in southern Thailand.
Geography
Amphoe Lamae is by following Amphoe limited (as seen from the south clockwise from ): Amphoe Tha Chana of Surat Thani Province and Amphoe Amphoe Lang Suan and Phato in Chumphon province. To the east is the Gulf of Thailand.
History
On July 7, 1971 Lamae initially as a semi- district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three tambon Lamae, Thung Luang Suan Taeng and from Amphoe Lang Suan were separated. On April 12, 1977, he was upgraded to a full Amphoe.
Education
In Amphoe Lamae is the addition of Maejo Chumphon Campus University.
Management
Amphoe Lamae consists of four sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 44 villages ( Muban ) are divided.
Lamae is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district. It consists of parts of the tambon Lamae.
There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
