Larry Gagosian

Larry Gagosian ( born April 19, 1945 in Los Angeles, (California ) is an American art dealer of modern and contemporary art of Armenian origin.

Career

Larry Gagosian ( Business Name: Go-Go ) operating in Santa Monica a poster shop, before 1977 in San Francisco opened a gallery for contemporary art. His first artists included Richard Serra, Frank Stella and Jean -Michel Basquiat, whose works he sold mainly to the film stars in Hollywood, but also to Industrial the U.S. West Coast. He is regarded as a sales genius. Opened in 1985, Gagosian Gallery in New York in a penthouse on Madison Avenue.
