Larry Klein

Larry Klein ( born 1959 ) is an American record producer, songwriter and bassist, commonly known as oftmaliger music Mitschaffender and ex- husband of Joni Mitchell.

Life and work

Klein started his musical career as a teenager by he became a session musician in appearance and on a number of records played the bass guitar, among the most important productions was his involvement on several recordings of jazz trumpeter Freddie Hubbard.

Klein met Joni Mitchell, when he was almost hired as a bass player and sound engineer for her 1982 album Wild Things Run. They married in November 1982. Klein helped her with the production of the album, just as with their four other plates, and occasionally contributed his own music compositions at, to which Mitchell wrote the lyrics (such as " Nothing Can Be Done "); during the recording of Turbulent Indigo in 1994 broke apart her marriage. Through the acquisition of several areas of responsibility Larry participated yet in the production of Joni's subsequent albums.

Since his work with Mitchell, Klein took over again at the board production of female singer-songwriters such as Shawn Colvin, Bonnie Raitt, Mary Black, Tracy Chapman and Julia Fordham. Currently, he is married to the famous Brazilian jazz singer Luciana Souza.
