Lasgo

Lasgo is a Vocal trance band from Belgium. It consists of the songwriter and producer Peter Luts ( born December 14, 1971), the songwriter and producer Jef Martens and Jelle van Dael singer (born 2 May 1990 in Opglabbeek, Belgium). With far more than five million albums sold ( singles and albums ) Lasgo is one of the most successful acts of electronic dance music in the world. The group has next to Sylver and Milk Inc. the pioneers of vocal trance.

Peter Luts is known not only as a producer of Ian Van Dahl, but is also a sought after remixer and DJ.

History

2001-2002

In 2001, David Vervoort and Peter Luts worked together on various club songs, including Something. They sought a singer and as you Evi Goffin already knew of her singing for Fiocco and 2 Fabiola, she was elected. Because David is a big fan of Scotland and lives a part of his family in Scotland, was the largest city in Scotland inspiration for the name of the new Dance project: Lasgo - the shortening of the name Glasgow is the first and last letters.

Released in early June 2001 debut single Something became a chart-topper: first in Belgium, then in Germany, Spain and other European countries. The song received both in Belgium and in Germany a gold record for more than 25,000 or 250,000 copies sold. Something Award at the Belgium TMF Awards as the best national single of the year 2001. Something with two BMI Awards were awarded for their success as a songwriter in the categories of Pop and Dance in 2004, Peter Luts and David Vervoort. The music video of Something was shot on the grounds of Prague's main railway station.

The second single Alone was released in early November 2001, but did not like all the other singles do not surpass the success of Something. In the UK alone was a top 10 hit.

In November 2001, the captured within five months debut album Some Things was released. 2003-2006

More singles were released from the album Far Away, which could not build on the successes of the first singles from the first album by far: Who's That Girl? (Feat. David Bayer) released in late June 2005 in Belgium and the beginning of January 2006 in Germany. In the video Evi does not play the lead role because of her pregnancy for the first and only time. After the presentation of the single Lying et al at the gig on October 1 of Lasgo at the TMF Awards 2005 in Belgium appeared this the end of October 2005. For the single of the song with different sounds was remixed, on the album he is not to be found in the form. In the U.S., Hold Me Now end of June 2006 was extracted from the album.

2007-2009

Evi Goffin

Evi Goffin ( born February 27, 1981 in Antwerp, Belgium) was employed prior to their time at Lasgo under the pseudonym of Medusa as a guest singer for Fiocco and 2 Fabiola. David Vervoort and Peter Luts they hired for the project, Lasgo, because they already knew of her singing for Fiocco and 2 Fabiola.

In the fall of 2006, there was between her and the management conflicts, so there were no new releases. David Vervoort

The songwriter, keyboardist, vocalist and producer David Vervoort ( born December 28, 1977 in Bonheiden, Belgium ) was also producer of Ian Van Dahl. Under the stage name DJ Dave McCullen he is also active as a DJ.

End of May 2008 David retired from Lasgo from the project, as he had in his own words no longer interested to write songs in Lasgo style.
