Lauda-Königshofen
The wine town of Lauda- Königshofen is located in the Main- Tauber-Kreis, the northernmost district of Baden-Württemberg between the county town of Tauberbischofsheim and the major district town of Bad Mergentheim in the region now known as Tauberfranken.

Geography
Lauda- Königshofen is centrally and conveniently located on the Romantic Road in the heart of the Lovely Tauber valley in 189-320 meters altitude.
It consists of the following formerly independent municipalities (in brackets number of inhabitants, as of August 2012 and area in km ² ), each with associated localities:

History
On January 1, 1975, united the city with the town of Lauda Königshofen and the community Unterbalbach in the context of local government reform in Baden- Württemberg to the city Lauda- Königshofen.
It's thirty year history of the Air Force site Lauda- Königshofen ended in 2004 with the task of 19.8 hectares Tauberfranken barracks on the outskirts of Lauda. The closure of the site of former soldiers and 1,000 civilian employees was associated with significant loss of economic and purchasing power.
Religions
Most inhabitants are Roman Catholic ( 68.9 %), evangelical are 17.9%.
1984, the Protestant church was divided and Königshofen together with green field and some other smaller places independently. The Protestant community includes Lauda Lauda today, Gerlachsheim, Oberlauda and rear box with about 1800 members.

Cultural Association
In Königshofen district located in the old school house the meeting rooms of the culture shock eV aim of which emerged from the youth center initiative Königshofen association with jetwa 80 members is to promote unusual art and culture in rural areas. - Catholic Church of St. James in Lauda (14th century, with rich Baroque interior ).
