Laurence Olivier Award
The Laurence Olivier Award ( also Olivier Award or Carrie Award ) is an award every year since 1976, a British theater and musical price. He is considered the highest honor in British theater and is comparable with the Tony Award on Broadway American. The award is named after the renowned British actor Laurence Olivier. The award will be by the Society of London Theatre to theater productions that were to be seen in London's West End.
History
The award was first awarded in 1976 and was initially the name of The Society of West End Theatre Awards. 1984, the award was renamed in honor of British actor Laurence Olivier. Donated and organized is the price of the Society of London Theatre.
