Le Mas-d'Agenais
Le Mas- d'Agenais is a commune with 1445 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Lot- et- Garonne in the Aquitaine region.
Geography
Le Mas- d'Agenais situated on a hill overlooking the River Garonne. Because of the poor navigability, parallel thereto, and the Lateral Canal à la Garonne ( German: Canal de Garonne ).
History
Beginning with the Roman era, the town has witnessed all the great upheavals of history.
- In the 13th century Cathar stronghold, during the crusade against the Albigensians
