Leovegildo Lins da Gama Júnior

Lins da Gama Júnior Leovegildo called, Júnior ( born June 29, 1954) is a former Brazilian footballer.

Life

Júnior played from 1974 to 1984 and from 1989 to 1993 for Flamengo Rio de Janeiro. He won four Brazilian championships, the last one in 1992 and the Copa Libertadores. In 1981 he won with Flamengo also the World Cup by a 3-0 win against Liverpool. 1984 to 1987 he played for Torino Calcio, from 1987 to 1989 for Pescara Calcio. Júnior is with 857 games played for Flamengo current record holder. He was honored with the Bola de Ouro 1992, the annual award for the best player in Brazil.

In the Brazilian national team, he played a total of 70 times and participated with the Seleção in 1982 and 1986 FIFA World Cups. At the World Championships in Spain in 1982, he was part of the so-called " Dream Team " to Zico and Sócrates, which is besides the Seleção in 1970 as the best Brazilian team of all time. Given the " Fantastic Four " in the midfield, which were formed from Zico, Sócrates, Falcão and Toninho Cerezo, was played by the very versatile and creative Júnior at left-back.
