1987–88 Serie A

The Serie A 1987/88 was the 55th season of the Italian Football League Serie A. It started the season on 14 September 1986. Pescara Calcio As a climber, Pisa SC and AC Cesena came from Serie B to do so. The season as champion finished the AC Milan and thus became the successor to the SSC Napoli. The qualification for the European Cup of Champions managed to Milan. For the UEFA Cup to Napoli, AS Roma and Inter Milan, Juventus and Torino Calcio qualified played from a fourth UEFA Cup hopefuls, with Juventus 4-2 was able to prevail in a penalty shootout after the end of normal playing time and the extension had been 0-0. About the Coppa Italia to Sampdoria secured the participation in the European Cup Winners' Cup the following year. In the B series had to descend U.S. Avellino and FC Empoli. Udine started also with a score of -5 in the season.
