1973–74 Serie A

The Serie A in 1973/74 was the 41st season of the Italian Serie A. The season began on October 7, 1973 and ended on 19 May 1974. Promoted as Genoa, Cesena and U.S. Foggia came from Serie B to do so. The championship won Lazio and thus became the successor to Juventus. By winning the championship Lazio was allowed to participate in the European Cup of Champions 1974/75. For the UEFA Cup the following year, Juventus, Napoli, Inter Milan and AC Turin qualified. The Bologna FC qualified as winning the Coppa Italia for the European Cup Winners' Cup 1974/75. Relegated to the B series had Foggia, the Genoa and Hellas Verona. Due to a manipulation of the scandal Hellas Verona had relegated. For the same reason Sampdoria and three U.S. Foggia were deducted six points.
