1971–72 Serie A
The Serie A 1971/72 was the 39th season of the Italian Serie A. The season began on October 3 1971und ended May 28, 1972. Promoted as Atalanta, AC Mantova and U.S. Catanzaro came from Serie B to do so. The championship Juventus secured only on the last day before the AC Milan. By winning the championship Juventus allowed to participate in the European Cup of Champions 1972/73. For the UEFA Cup, the AC Turin, Cagliari Calcio, Inter Milan and ACF Fiorentina qualified. The vice- champions AC Milan qualified as winning derCoppa Italia for the Europa Cup Winners' Cup 1972/73 the following year. Relegated to the B series had the AC Mantova, U.S. Catanzaro and Varese FC.
