1978–79 Serie A
The Serie A 1978/79 was the 46th season of the Italian Serie A. The season began on October 1, 1978. Ascoli Calcio As climbers, FC Catanzaro and U.S. Avellino came from Serie B to do so. The season as champion finished the AC Milan and thus became the successor to Juventus. The qualification for the European Cup of Champions managed to Milan. For the UEFA Cup to AC Perugia, Inter Milan, FC Torino and Napoli qualified. About the Coppa Italia Juventus Turin secured the participation in the European Cup Winners' Cup the following year. Relegated to the B series had Lane Rossi Vicenza, Atalanta and Hellas Verona.
