Bruno Giordano

Bruno Giordano ( born August 13, 1956 in Rome, Italy ) is an Italian football coach and former player.

Career as a player

Giordano Bruno was playing on the position of the striker. He began his career in 1975 at Lazio and played a total of 10 years for the club. In the following years he played for Napoli, Ascoli Calcio and Bologna FC. During his time in Naples he formed together with Diego Armando Maradona and Careca the so-called "Ma -Gi- Ca " attack line ( Maradona Giordano Careca ), which led Naples to two Italian Cups and a UEFA Cup victory. In 319 games in Serie A, he scored 110 goals.

He was 13 times for the Italian national team in action, where he managed a goal.

Career as a coach

In contrast to his career as a player was his activity with little success as a coach for a long time. He worked for various unterklassigen clubs, but was usually released after a short time.

For the season 2006/2007 he was hired by the Serie A club FC Messina. After a successful start to the season the team plummeted into the relegation zone and finally Giordano was released on 30 January 2007, particularly after the fans putting pressure on the club's management.

Curiously, he took on 2 April 2007 again as coach of his successor, Alberto Cavasin who could not be traced back to winning ways the team.

On April 23, he was again dismissed after three defeats had been in three games to book.
