Alessandro Costacurta ( born April 24, 1966 in Jerago con Orago ) is a retired Italian footballer.
Playing career
The defender started his professional career in the year 1985 with AC Milan, with the exception of the 1986/87 season, which he played at third division Monza Calcio, he played his entire career at AC Milan. His first Serie A game, he completed but only on 25 October 1987 compared with Hellas Verona.
Costacurta won with his club seven times the Italian championship, once the national cup, twice the European Super Cup five times and the Champions Cup or its successor tournament, the UEFA Champions League ( last 2007)., Making it one of the most successful football players of Italy.
With the 2:3 against Udinese Calcio on 19 May 2007, he ended his active career as a football player at the age of 41 years. In this game, he scored his third and thus at the same time last goal for AC Milan.
National team career
Costacurta debuted at the age of 25 years for the Italian national football team in 1991 in the match against Norway ( 1-0). With the Football World Cup 1994 in the USA, he reached the finals with Italy, was in this, however due to a lock is not on the court. Italy defeated Brazil on penalties 2:3. Until his retirement in 1998, he graduated from 59 internationals.

Coaching career
In the 2007 /08 season he was next to Mauro Tassotti assistant coach Carlo Ancelotti at AC Milan. During this season was the English second division side Queens Park Rangers, the Formula 1 manager Flavio Briatore had just acquired, commit Costacurta as head coach. However, he declined the offer.
From 27 October 2008 to February 2009 he was coach of AC Mantova in Serie B.
Curiosities
Costacurta is. Due to its use on 21 November 2006 at the age of 40 years and 213 days at the game between AC Milan and AEK Athens the second oldest player to ever played a game in the UEFA Champions League Older was only Marco Ballotta, also an Italian, in services at Lazio. This played with 43 years and 253 days, watching the match on 11 December 2007 against Real Madrid in goal for the Romans.
