Liberty Seguros Continental

Liberty Seguros was a Portuguese cycling team.

In 1996, the team was founded under the name LA aluminios - Pecol. Since 2005, the team takes, thanks to a collaboration with Liberty Seguros to the UCI Continental Circuits as a Continental team in part. The Olympic silver medalist from Athens 2004 Sergio Paulinho and Nuno Ribeiro switched to Liberty Seguros team. In Portugal Tour 2005 Candido Barbosa won three stages and finished second in the overall standings.

Since 2007, the team went just under the name of Liberty Seguros, after the insurance company had gotten in the summer of 2006 at the ProTeam. In September 2009 it was announced that the rider Héctor Guerra, Isidro Nozalund Nuño Ribeiro, winner of the Tour of Portugal, in -competition testing on August 3 were positive for doping agent CERA. Thereupon Liberty Seguros withdrew with immediate effect as the main sponsor.
