Ličartovce

Ličartovce (Hungarian Licsérd - to 1907 Licsért ) is a city and a municipality in eastern Slovakia, with a population of 964 (as at 31 December 2011). It belongs to Okres Prešov, which is a part of the overall district Prešov Region.

Geography

The municipality is located in the northern part of the basin Košická kotlina, at the foot of the highlands Šarišská Highlands. Through the municipal area of ​​the river flows Svinka, shortly before it flows into the Hornád. Ličartovce is 14 km from Prešov and 20 km from Košice.

The town was first mentioned in 1249. In 1828 he had 68 houses and 517 inhabitants.
