Lyubov Vladimirovna Sokolova - Schaschkowa (Russian: Любовь Владимировна Соколова - Шашкова, English transcription: Lyubov Vladimirovna Sokolova - Chachkova; born December 4, 1977 in Moscow as Lyubov Sokolova ) is a Russian volleyball player. She participated in five Olympic Games, winning two silver medals. She was also twice each world and European champion. With their clubs they gathered in several countries league titles and cup wins.
Career
Sokolova - Schaschkowa began her career in 1992 in the UK CSKA Moscow. After playing one season at Rossy Moscow, she made her debut in 1996 in the Russian national team, with which she reached the third place in the Grand Prix. In Atlanta they first took part in the Olympics and finished fourth. 1997/98 universal player stood at HAOK Mladost Zagreb under contract. With Russia, she reached the final of the Grand Prix and third place in the World Cup 1998. Subsequently she went to Japan for a year to rival Hitachi. Sokolova won the 1999 - Schaschkowa with the national team, first the Grand Prix and then through a final victory against Croatia the European Championship 1999. After these successes, she returned to the home and was with VK Uralochka - NTMK Russian master. After the renewed second place in the Grand Prix she reached with the Russians in the Olympic tournament in Sydney in 2000, the final against Cuba and won the silver medal.
In the following season Sokolova - Schaschkowa managed with the Turkish club Istanbul Eczacıbaşı a domestic double of cup win and championship. With Russia she managed to defend the title in the 2001 European, this time in the final against Italy. In 2002, she joined the Italian league to Foppapedretti Bergamo. With Bergamo they won the 2004 national championship and the CEV Cup. In their third appearance at the Olympic Games 2004 Russia missed the second consecutive victory in the final, so there was a silver medal again. The next season in Bergamo ended with the Cup victory and winning the Champions League final against Italian Asystel Volley Novara. Then the universal player moved within the league to Monte Schiavo Jesi. With the national team in 2006, it reached second place in the Grand Prix. In Japan, it was a 3-2 the Russians against Brazil for the first time world champion. In 2007 she came with the Spanish club CAV Murcia 2005, the Double, and also the success in Top Teams Cup against their former club CSKA Moscow. In London Sokolova - Schaschkowa participated for the fifth time in the Olympic Games and was named after the quarter-final defeat against Brazil back in five. After the tournament she played in the league for Eczacıbaşı Istanbul.
Private
During her time at Istanbul married Sokolova - Schaschkowa the Turkish volleyball player Aytaç Kılıç. So it has next to the Russian and the Turkish nationality. From her first marriage she had a son.
