Lipníky

Lipníky is a municipality in eastern Slovakia with 475 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011) in Okres Prešov, a part of the Prešov Region and is the traditional landscape Saris counted.

Geography

The municipality is located in a foothills of the Low Beskid along the creek Ladianka. Other landscape features are the foothills of the Slanské Hills in the south and the saddle Petic in the east. The center is located at an altitude of 285 m nm and is 15 km from Prešov away.

History

The community Lipníky is relatively very young, as it was in this form until 1990. It is composed of the parts of the municipality Lipníky, Podhrabina and Talka. The place itself was previously Lipníky a hamlet of the municipality Šarišská Poruba and was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1410 and incorporated in 1971 after Nemcovce.

The hamlet Talka and Podhrabina were part of Nemcovce. While Talka but arose in the 14th century, Podhrabina was established after the First World War.

Today's church was established on 28 August 1990 after a decision by the District National Committee in Prešov, an associated cadastral was created in 1992 from parts of Chmeľov, Nemcovce and Šarišská Poruba.
