Llançà

Llançà (Spanish: Llansá ) is a resort on the Costa Brava in the province of Girona in Catalonia (Spain).

Llançà is located about 14 kilometers south of the French border in Portbou. Fishing has in the small town tradition. Some locals still live it today. The place is dominated in the summer months increasingly on tourism.

The 350 meter-long main beach is dark sand and partially penetrated with gravel. In addition, there are the small fishing port and a marina. The rugged coastline has many small and quiet coves with beach zones. The steep and rocky coast of Llansá is a popular diving area.

Special feature are the minerals. About two kilometers towards Figueres there is a quarry. There, pure white feldspar ( orthoclase ) found in pegmatites, plagioclase, quartz and orthoclase Almandinkristalle on. The rock is Ordovician shale.
