Pau, Spain

Pau is a Catalan municipality in the province of Girona, northeastern Spain. It is located in the comarca of Alt Empordà.

Location

Pau is below the mountain ranges Rodes and Albera at an altitude of 33 meters. Parts of the municipality are a nature reserve and part of the Empordà Marshes Natural Park.

Economy

In the municipality of Pau olive growing and wine production. The grapes and olives are processed in the local cooperative " Empordàlia ". The wine comes under the denomination of origin Emporda Costa Brava and the brand name " Sinols " in the trade. The olive oil is marketed under the name " Oli de Pau ".
