Locarno International Film Festival

The International Film Festival of Locarno (Italian original: Festival del film Locarno ) takes place since 1946 every year in August in the town of Locarno, in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Cinematic Special

During ten days, hundreds of films are shown in several rows, retrospectives and in competition for the Golden Leopard. Many films are shown as an open air event at the Piazza Grande in Locarno 's old town on a big screen (26 × 14 m) instead. Around 8,000 viewers have there place.
