Ľubotice

Ľubotice ( until 1948 slovak " Kelemeš "; Hungarian Kellemes ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia. It is located in the northern foothills of the Košice kotlina at the foot of Slanské Hills and is drained by the river Sekčov. The center of the city Prešov is located about 4 km to the west.

The village was first mentioned in 1285 as Kellemes, 1948, the name of national political reasons was changed to a Slavic -sounding. The original name is the Hungarian word kellemes (Eng. "pleasant" ) have its origin, this also takes its present name which Luby ( = "lovely" ) is derived. From 1970 to 1990 she was a district of the city of Prešov, 1990, the church today part Šarišské Lúky, which was also incorporated to Prešov since 1970 a part of the community was.

Other attractions in the Roman Catholic Church Nativity of Mary belongs to the year 1806 and a former synagogue ( 1833) in the district Šarišské Lúky, which today serves as a Greek Catholic temple.
