Luca Colombo (cyclist)

Luca Colombo ( born December 26, 1969 in Cantù ) is an Italian former racing cyclist and World Champion.

In 1987, Luca Colombo Youth World Champion in the team time trial. The following year, he won the Italian Amateur Championship in the time trial in second place, 1990, he won the title. Particularly successful was the great and powerful Colombo ( 1.90 meters to competition times 78 kg ) but as a team driver on the road: 1991 in Stuttgart ( with Flavio Anastasia, Gianfranco Conti and Andrea Peron ) and 1994 in Agrigento ( with Cristian Salvato, Gianfranco Contri and Dario Anriotto ) he became World Champion with the Italian road quad. At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, ​​the team ( Peron, Contri, Anastasia ) won the silver medal.

In 1995, Colombo professional, as such, could not gain a foothold. In 1995 he was third in the Giro d'Abruzzo. In 1997 he competed in the Tour de France and gave up during the 13th stage. He then ended his pro career.
