Lucjan Lis

Lucjan novel Lis ( born August 8, 1950 in Bytom ) is a former Polish cyclist and World Champion.

1970 Lucjan Lis third in the Polish road championship. The following year, he won at the UCI Road World Championships 1971 in Mendrisio third place in the team time trial, with Jan Smyrak, Stanislaw Szozda and Edward Barcik. In 1972 he competed at the Olympic Games in Munich; with road quad ( Barcik, Stanisław Szozda, Ryszard Szurkowski ), he won the silver medal in the individual road race he finished 36th in the same year he finished second in the Tour of Bulgaria. In 1973 he became world champion in the team time trial (together with Tadeusz Mytnik, Szozda and Szurkowski ), won the Tour of Poland and occupied the seventh place in the overall standings of the International Peace Race. Then he stepped away from the sport of cycling.

For health reasons Lis later traveled to the Federal Republic of Germany to seek medical treatment, and stayed. Son Lucas Liss, which is managed and supervised by his father, is a hopeful cycling talent, the celebrated first international success especially in track cycling.
