Hans-Joachim Hartnick

Hans -Joachim Nick Hart, ( born January 12, 1955 in Wormlage ) is a former German road cyclist from East Germany. His greatest successes were the victory in the Peace Race in 1976, the world champion title in 1979 and the Olympic silver medal in 1980 in the team time trial, for which he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.

Youth

Hans -Joachim Nick Hart began in 1966, at the age of eleven, with the cycling. He was second in 1968 the East German championship in cross country and participated in the GDR Cup finals in street Single A student. In 1969 he won with chemistry Annahütte the GDR Championship road team A student, won the prize of the " Lusatian Rundschau " as well as the selection race Student A in Bischofswerder. In 1969 his Klubdelegierung for SC Cottbus.

With the SC Cottbus Hart Nick was in 1970 in the Youth B GDR Champion in road racing team and in the train of four. In the street single, he finished in the GDR Championship in ninth place in cyclo-cross race in fourth place. In 1971 he was able to repeat both team success and GDR Champion was also in road single. At the Junior Rally in Neugersdorf Hart Nick reached number seven and won a stage. In 1972, he won four East German championship title - in cross-country, in the street Single, road race team and in the all around. In the train individual pursuit and the train crew persecution, he won a silver medal. He won the overall classification of the four- stages - ride in Cottbus, where he won all four stage wins, finished second in a junior criterion in Romania and also second in the Junior Rally in Neugersdorf.

1973 Nick Hart won the East German championship in road racing team of youth A. Here, the four of SC Cottbus presented ( with Nick Hart, Bernd Drogan, Hans -Peter woe and Max ) a new DDR record over 75 km in 1:38:09, 8 hours. He again won the four- stages - ride in Cottbus, also with four stage wins. He won four of five stages of the rally in Neugersdorf and took the overall victory. In the youth competition of friendship in Miskolc, Hungary Hart Nick won a bronze medal in the individual competition and along with Drogan, woe and Max the silver medal in the road race team.

1973 denied Hans-Joachim Nick Hart, continue starting for the SC Cottbus, the first race in the men's area. He finished in third place at around the Scharmützel also third at around Langenau. In Bulgaria tour Nick Hart took a stage victory ( stage 7 of Sliven after Haskovo ) and finished eleventh in the standings.

Coach

After his playing career, he worked as a national trainer for the field of railway endurance for Women / Juniors. In 2006 he went as coach of the Chinese women's team in the Middle Kingdom. After his return he resumed work as a physical education teacher in his home city of Cottbus.
