Luis León Sánchez
Luis León Sánchez Gil (* November 24, 1983 in Murcia, Spain ) is a Spanish cyclist. He is the older brother of football player Pedro León Sánchez Gil, who plays for Getafe CF.
Career
Sánchez ran from 2004 to 2006 for Liberty Seguros. In 2007 he moved to the Caisse d' Epargne and since 2011 he goes for the Belkin. He was able to achieve in 2008 with two wins in major Tours Through his departure Arts: In the spring he won a stage at Paris- Nice and the summer, the then 24 -year-old secured the victory in the seventh stage of the Tour de France 's largest ever sporting success. In the 2009 Tour de France he sat by on the eighth stage from Andorra to St.Girons in the final sprint against Sandy Casar and won the stage itself. In 2011 he succeeded on the 9th stage to Saint -Flour his third stage victory in the Tour de France. He could re- enforce from a breakaway out in goal against Sandy Casar and Thomas Voeckler. In 2012 he won after stage wins in Paris-Nice, the Vuelta a Castilla y León, the Tour de Romandie and the victory in the Spanish time trial championship in his fourth Tour de France stage.
A first important victory in a one-day race succeeded in 2010 in the Clasica San Sebastian, he could repeat in 2012. He devotes each of his victories to his deceased brother Leon.
Sánchez was brought by Spanish media on several occasions with the Fuentes doping scandal in conjunction, however, denied any contact with Fuentes. As a result, Sánchez had to admit to have worked in 2007 with the equally controversial Dr. Michele Ferrari. He denied, however, that have played a role in this context doping. After detailing the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad in January 2013 reported by Sanchez's ties to Dr. Fuentes, he was temporarily suspended until May of his team Belkin Pro Cycling. This suspension was lifted, as by specifying the teams have no evidence of links to Dr. Fuentes are given. However, Sanchez was bought out his contract running until 2015 in October 2013, which was established by a team spokesman as follows: "His name appears in too many cases. "
