Lysianka

Lysjanka (Ukrainian Лисянка; Лысянка Russian, Polish Łysianka ) is an urban-type settlement in the Cherkasy Oblast in the middle of the Ukraine.

Lysjanka has about 8000 inhabitants and is the administrative center in Rajon Lysjanka, still belong to the 38 surrounding villages.

Lysjanka is how about 20 km south-east location nearest major city to the river Swenyhorodka Hnylyj Tikytsch, a tributary of the Synjucha.

History

The town was first mentioned in writing in 1593, in 1622 received the settlement Magdeburg Rights awarded. 1674 Battle of Lisianka took place at the site since 1965 the place has the status of an urban-type settlement.
