Ma Normandie
Ma Normandie ( " My Normandy ") is the semi-official national anthem of the Bailiwick of Jersey. It was composed by Frédéric Bérat. In 2008, this was replaced during an event as the official national anthem of the island by Iceland Home. By 2008, the anthem was performed as an alternative to God Save the Queen as the official anthem.
Jersey was originally part of the Duchy of Normandy (911-1259) and French for centuries was the official language of Jersey, whose inhabitants spoke / speak Jèrriais traditionally, a variety of the Norman language.
Ma Normandie is also often used as an unofficial anthem of Normandy.
Lyrics
Usually for the French-language version of the national anthem ( " My Normandy " ) is sung, an English version, however, is also common.
