Magali Messmer

Magali Di Marco Messmer (born Messmer, born September 9, 1971 in La Chaux -de-Fonds ) is a Swiss triathlete, which starts at the Olympic distance race (1.5 km swim, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).

Career

At the age of ten she began swimming and won several Swiss Champion title at youth level. In 1995 she took part in a triathlon for the first time and in the same year immediately Swiss champion. For more league titles followed in 1996, 1999 and 2000. Between 1999 and 2000, they were each at the Triathlon European Championships Second.

Your biggest success Messmer at the Summer Olympics in Sydney in 2000, when she won the bronze medal behind the Swiss Brigitte McMahon and the Australian Me Ellie Jones. She explained after her resignation, but returned after three years back to elite and established himself again among the world leaders. 2005 to 2007, she won the Swiss championship three times in a row. In 2008, she started again at the Olympic Games in Beijing for Switzerland. In August 2010, she was third in the Swiss Triathlon Championships and won the Lausanne Marathon.

In the 15 years from 1995 to 2009 Magali Di Marco participated in 73 ITU competitions and achieved some 43 top ten finishes in 2009 she was number 8 among the 106 world's best triathletes in the World Championship ranking. In France Magali Di Marco takes part in the 2010 Club Championship Series Lyonnaise des Eaux and upholds the Triathlon Club Chateauroux.

Magali Messmer is married since 2001, has a son and lives in Trois Torrents. In cooperation with the Swiss Accident Insurance Fund (SUVA ) Messmer organized training camps for beginners and young people.
