Mansfield is a city in Tarrant County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located on U.S. Highway 287 in northeast Texas, 25 km southeast of Fort Worth in the southeast of the county and has a total area of 94.6 km ², of which 0.1 km ² water surface.

History

Ralph S. Man and Julian Feild example, after which it was named, moved to this area in 1857, where they built a sawmill and the first steam-powered grain mill. A descendant settlers took land around the mill and named the place first Mans Feild, after the two mill owners, from which was in the aftermath Mansfield.

According to the census of 2000, there were 28,031 people in 8,881 households and 7,646 families. The population density was 296.7 inhabitants per km ².
