Marco Antonio Rodríguez

Marco Antonio Rodríguez Moreno ( born November 10, 1973 in Mexico City) is a Mexican football referee.

He is a 1999 FIFA referee since January 1. His first international match he initiated on 3 March 1999: Paraguay - Guatemala.

In addition to his refereeing, he likes to bike or reading the Bible.

The Football World Cup 2006 was his first major tournament. He was assisted by his assistant Jose Luis Camargo ( Mexico) and Leonel Leal (Costa Rica). At 32 he was the youngest referee in the World Championship in Germany.

Rodriguez led the games England - Paraguay 1-0 (1-0 ) and Ivory Coast - Serbia and Montenegro 3:2 (1:2).

Quite unlike Armando Archundia, the other Mexican referee of this World Cup, Rodríguez has in his home country a reputation quickly and thoughtlessly to draw cards and overall to make decisions picky. Because of his hairstyle, he is mocked and often nicknamed " Chiquidrácula " ( Kleindrakula ), which refers to a person of Mexican children's TV show of the 1980s and 1990s Chiquilladas.

In the 2010 World Cup, he led the encounter Germany - Australia 4:0 ( 2:0 ) and Chile - Spain 1:2 ( 0:2 ).

The referee Marco Rodriguez is not identical to the same physical education teacher at the German school Colegio Alemán Alexander von Humboldt in the district of Xochimilco Mexican capital.
