Mark Geiger

Mark Geiger ( born August 25, 1974 in Beachwood, New Jersey) is an American football referee for the Professional Referee Organization. He runs games in the North American Major League Soccer. In addition to the Arbitrator Geiger worked as a mathematics teacher.

Career

Geiger is a referee since 1988. In 2003, he became a national arbiter of the United States Soccer Federation and has been used since 2004 in MLS. Since his appointment as FIFA referee in 2008, he is like the Gold Cup and other international competitions used in tournaments CONCACAF. In 2011 he was selected for the CONCACAF U- 20 Championship, where he oversaw the final. In the same year, FIFA chose him for the U- 20 World Cup, where he was recognized in two group matches, one quarter-final and the final. In addition, he was selected to MLS Referee of the Year 2011. With the 2012 Olympic Games and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2013 followed by two more international tournaments in which Geiger games headed.

Further employment

Geiger taught mathematics at the Lacey Township High School in Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey. He was among 103 recipients of an award for outstanding teaching in mathematics and science in 2009.
