Marconi Stallions FC
The Marconi Stallions Football Club is an Australian football club based in Sydney, Australia. The club was known by four-time winning the National Soccer League. The Marconi Stallions were only one of two clubs that played from 1977 all seasons of the National Soccer League until its dissolution in 2004.
History
The club was founded as Marconi Fairfield, named after Guglielmo Marconi and Fairfield (New South Wales), the origin of the association. The club was founded in 1958 by Italian immigrants. Due to the sporting success of the club, however, has now a wide following.
Strong competition consists Club of Sydney United, whose stadium is only about a kilometer from Club Marconi. The rivalry is mainly due to the year 1970, when Marconi Fairfield ascended into the State League. In 1998 there was a meeting in the NSL Grand Final, which ended with a penalty shootout and was won by Marconi.
