Mariestad BoIS HC

The Mariestad BoIS HC is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Mariestad, which since 2008 in the third highest Swedish professional league that plays Division 1. Play their home games out of the club in the Katrin halls that offers 2550 spectators.

History

The club was founded in 1947 as a department of the Hockey Mariestad CK. 1967 was separation from hometown club, with the split-off pure ice hockey club from now Mariestad BoIS said. It was not until over 30 years later, in 1998, the club was renamed in Mariestad BoIS HC. In April 2008 the club was promoted to the Allsvenskan after they had defeated the Väsby IK Katrin halls before 2523 spectators.

In the following season the team finished only the last place the Allsvenskan and had to compete in the Kvalserien. There could not prevail and the club got off to Division 1.
