Marikina

Marikina City, Tagalog: Lungsod ng Marikina, is a Filipino Component City in the north of the capital region Metro Manila. According to the census of 2010 had 424 150 inhabitants Marikina City, living in 16 barangays. It is classified as a church of the first income class in the Philippines and as a highly urbanized.

Geography

Marikina City 's neighboring communities are Quezon City in the West and North, San Mateo to the northeast, Antipolo City in the East and Cainta and Pasig City to the south. The topography of the city is characterized by the flat land in the southeast of the central Luzon plains and the mountainous foothills of the Sierra Madre in the Northeast.

Attractions

The Marikina Shoe Museum, which displays a collection of 1500 shoes of Imelda Marcos is issued. Through this museum the city in 1978 became internationally known. The Marikina Sports Complex, where the football matches of the women were discharged at the Southeast Asia Games 2005.
