San Mateo (Rizal)

San Mateo is a Philippine municipality in the province of Rizal, in the administrative region IV, Calabarzon. It has 205 255 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 15 barangays. It is classified as a church of the first income class in the Philippines and as a partially urbanized.

San Mateo is located in the north of the province of Rizal, on the border to the capital region Metro Manila. The topography of the municipality is characterized by the foothills of the mountain range of the Sierra Madre. Your neighboring municipalities are Quezon City in the west, Marikina City in the southwest, to the north Rodriguez and Antipolo City in the south and east. Parts of the Marikina Watershed Forest Reserve situated on the territory of the municipality.
