Tanay (Rizal)

Tanay is a Philippine municipality in the province of Rizal, in the administrative region IV, Calabarzon. It has 98 879 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 19 barangays. It is classified as a church of the first income class in the Philippines and as a partially urbanized.

Tanay is located on the eastern shore of the largest lake in the Philippines, the Laguna de Bay. Your neighboring municipalities are Baras, Morong and Teresa in the west, Antipolo City in the north, General Nakar, Quezon Province, in the east, Pililla and Santa Maria, Laguna province, in the south. The topography of the city is characterized by lowlands near the shore and the foothills of the Sierra Madre in the east.

Parts of the Marikina Watershed Forest Reserve situated on the territory of the municipality.
