Mariusz Czerkawski
Mariusz Czerkawski ( born April 13, 1972 in Radomsko ) is a retired Polish ice hockey player, who in his active from 1990 to 2009 included for the Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, Canadiens de Montréal and the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League has played.

Career
Mariusz Czerkawski began his career as a hockey player at GKS Tychy, for which he made his debut in the Polish Playoff Final in the 1990/91 season. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1991 in the fifth round as the 106th overall player of the Boston Bruins. First, he remained in Europe, where he ever a year in Sweden for Djurgårdens IF, with whom he in 1992 was runner-up, played in the Elitserien and the second division club Hammarby IF, before he returned to the 1993/94 season to Djurgårdens IF. However, the game time he finished with the Boston Bruins, for whom he made his debut on April 9, 1994 in the National Hockey League announced which he was the first Pole who had ever play in the NHL denied. The shortened because of a lockout season 1994/95 he started in the Finnish SM- liiga in Kiekko - Espoo.
Over the 1995/96 season Czerkawski moved within the NHL to the Edmonton Oilers. Here he remained for one and a half seasons before he was released to the New York Islanders. For the Islanders, he was in the next five years to guide players and participated among others in 2000 at the NHL All-Star Game. When the Canadiens de Montréal, he could in the season 2002/ 03 does not prevail and was released by these for much of the season on their farm team Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League, which is why he returned to the 2003/04 season to the Islanders. The lockout season 2004 /05 he spent back in Sweden at his former club Djurgårdens IF. In the season 2005/ 06 he tried again in the NHL and played at the start for the Toronto Maple Leafs, then moved back to his first NHL team, the Boston Bruins.
From 2006 to 2008 Czerkawski stood at the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers of the Swiss National League A under contract, where he was able to convince in a total of 104 games also with 107 points scorer. The season 2008/ 09 he spent at his first professional club GKS Tychy in Poland, with whom he won the national cup competition, before he ended his career after the season at the age of 37 years.
Internationally
For Poland Czerkawski took part in the junior level at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1990 and the U20 World Youth Championship in 1990 and the U20 Junior B World Cup 1991. In the senior level, he stood in the squad of his country at the B World Championships in 1991, 1998, 2000 and 2006 and the A World Championships in 1992 and 2002. Moreover, he represented Poland at the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville and in the qualification for the Olympic Winter Games 2006.
