Marjan Kovačević

Marjan Kovačević ( Serbian Cyrillic Марјан Ковачевић; born April 8, 1957) is a Serbian chess composer.

Chess composition

In the third world championship of chess composition, he finished in fairy chess 2nd place in the 2nd Division. In the seventh World Cup, he was behind the Ukrainians Valentin Rudenko (108 rating points) with 86.5 rating points, the second most successful composer. He finished second in this event, the third in the three- Zügern and second place in the fairy chess. With the Serbian national team, he won the world championship title as well as the second European Championship in solving chess problems and studies in 2006 in Warsaw.

In 2007, his PCCC granted the title Grand Master for chess composition. Since 1988 he is Grand Master in solving chess compositions, his rating in solving is 2557 (as of July 1, 2012, 19 of the world rankings ), his previous highest rating of 2697 Since 1989 he has been International Jury for two Züger. . For Serbia is the living end in Zemun delegate to the PCCC.

Marjan Kovačević wrote books about chess compositions and chess articles, for example reviews for Mat Plus, the Serbian problem solver society and chess articles for the Belgrade daily Politika.
